Aubrey's Birth Story PDF Print E-mail

Amy started having VERY strong contractions at about 1;30 this morning, woke me up around 2 to say it was time to go. We tried to wait for my mom to get to the house to watch jayden, but the contractions got stronger and closer together so we had to leave about 230. I thought sure we were going to have that baby in the car! We got to the hospital and just as amy was about to get in the bed, her water broke. The nurses were saying, "quick get in the bed in case that baby decides to come out now".

They checked her right away and she was at 7cm. Then they tried to get an IV started so they could fill her with fluids and get the epidural in. She was wanting it BAD. Before they could even get the epidural in, she was pushing the baby out. 1 big set of 3 pushes and she was done at 3:43am (2 hours after contractions started)

Aubrey June Yon

7 lbs. 13 oz.

20 in.

Born ever so quickly at 3:43 am on June 11

Mom and baby are both doing great. Everything went as smoothly as it ever possibly could. Amy would have liked to have more drugs in the moment, but since she didn't end up getting an epidural, the recovery will be quick and easier.
